About Us

Beth Fier, M.A., L.P.C., N.C.C. is the founder of SEED Services and director of the Intellectual Disabilities Dialectical Behavior Therapy (ID DBT) Program of Central Jersey. She has worked in the field of mental health for 15 years in a variety of capacities, including clinician, trainer, and adjunct faculty member at the College of New Jersey. She is an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), New Jersey Counseling Association (NJCA), and currently serves as president for the New Jersey Association for Multicultural Counseling (NJAMC). She has presented at local, state and national conferences on such topics as assertive community treatment; integrating cultural competency into service delivery; diversity management; and DBT approaches to working with intellectual disabilities. Lastly, she is also the 2009 recipient of the Tabler Award for distinguished service on behalf of the counseling profession, presented by NJCA.

As a private practitioner, Ms. Fier counsels adolescents and adults using a DBT informed approach, and has a special interest in working with those affected by developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. Ms. Fier also provides clinical consulting services to behavioral healthcare organizations interested in creating or refining cultural competence initiatives.

Rikki Bobchin, M.S.W., L.C.S.W. is the director of the DBT Center of NJ. The DBT Center of NJ is a specialized Dialectical Behavior Therapy practice that offers compassionate empirically-based treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder, Trauma, Depression & Anxiety Disorders, Disordered Eating, Substance Abuse & Addiction, Parent Education, and Couples Work. Ms. Bobchin has been treating clients using a DBT approach since 1999 and founded the DBT Center of NJ to provide all modes of treatment to their full capacity. Other evidence-based treatments provided through the center include Prolonged Exposure (PE) for Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and other anxiety disorders.
